Ecuador and the UN-REDD Programme invite you to participate in the following joint side event at the UNFCCC Climate Change Conference in Bonn, Germany:
Progress on Addressing REDD+ Safeguards

In the lead up to COP 17, this side event is designed to showcase the work on safeguards undertaken thus far at both the national and global level and the advancements made by leading countries such as Ecuador.
It will provide information on progress made in the development of tools to implement safeguards, explaining how this supports REDD+ readiness efforts at the country level, and the further development of methodologies in line with the UNFCCC process to make REDD+ work. The side event also aims at providing concrete examples of how countries such as Ecuador and others are addressing the promotion and awareness raising of REDD+ safeguards in the readiness phase.
A light snack will be provided following the event.
